Bolivarian Alliance countries renew their rejection of coercive measures against independent countries
HAVANA, (ST): The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas renewed its refusal to impose unilateral coercive measures against independent sovereign states.
The Executive Secretary of the Alliance, Sasha Llorente, said in a tweet that “these unilateral coercive measures represent an obstacle to peoples’ enjoyment of their rights at various levels,” stressing “the right of every country to build its own political, economic, social and cultural system away from coercive measures, threats and aggression in a peaceful environment, stability, justice, democracy and respect for human rights.”
During the twentieth summit of heads of state and government held at the end of 2021 in the Cuban capital, Havana, the Bolivarian Alliance called for a transparent, democratic, just and equitable international system based on pluralism and respect for the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.
