Director of the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism, Eng. Fayez Mansour, revealed that the great demand for tourist sites in Tartous and Lattakia last year prompted the company to work on increasing the number of accommodation points and reception sites for the upcoming tourist season, indicating that the company’s profits last year amounted to 5 billion Syrian pounds.
Mansour said in a statement to SANA reporter that the company is preparing to establish a thirty-room hotel in the “La Plage” site to increase the invested space.
Mansour indicated that the company is working to activate domestic and popular tourism in its facilities at reasonable prices that suit all segments of society.
The company seeks to encourage domestic and popular tourism by supplying it with a mass transport fleet, where 45 buses of various sizes will be imported to support inter-provincial transport, tourist trips and the overall activities carried out by the ministry and the company.
The total profits of the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism until last September amounted to about 3 billion Syrian pounds.
