Syromolotov: Washington plans to reactivate terrorist sleeper cells in Syria

Russia Today website has revealed information about the CIA’s intention to exploit extremist terrorist sleeper cells in Syria to attack the Syrian Arab Army.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said in a statement on Monday that “the Russian forces in Syria have information about CIA’s plans to reactivate extremist sleeper cells in Syria to carry out attacks against the Syrian army as well as the Russian and Iranian servicemen.”

Syromolotov added that the Russian forces in Syria have taken appropriate measures to deal with any potential incidents of this kind.

Itar Tass news agency reported that Syromolotov said that the Russian-US consultations on counter-terrorism were stopped at the initiative of the United States, and so far, Washington has given no signals as to their resumption.
