The Acting Charge de Affairs at the Syrian Embassy in the Nigerian Capital, Abuja, Firas Al-Abdullah on Friday met with Director of the Middle East and the Gulf Department at the Nigerian Foreign Ministry Abu Baker Saleh with the aim of discussing bilateral relations in all fields and means of expanding trade exchange and investment cooperation between the two countries, according to the facebook page of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affaris and Expatriates.
The two sides affirmed the importance of mutual support at international organizations and forums.
Saleh stressed his country’s keenness on boosting and expanding its relations with Syria in all domains, pointing out that the two countries are facing a common enemy, represented in the terrorist groups.
He expressed the Nigerian companies’ willingness to participate in the process of reconstruction in Syria and to encourage Nigerian investments there.
He also noted the Nigerian government’s efforts to speed up the endorsement of the agreements signed with Syria.
