Tehran (ST): Member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mojtaba Dhul-Nouri, announced that reaching a final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program is “close”, pointing out that the concessions offered by Tehran in the current negotiations are few compared to those offered by the other party.
Dhul-Nouri said in a statement today, “Iran is seeking to reach an agreement, but at the same time, it has its plans in case that fails,” pointing out that the upcoming congressional elections, the decline in the popularity of US President Joe Biden, and the existence of loopholes in the nuclear agreement are among the issues that push Washington to speed up in reaching a final agreement.
Referring to the importance of increasing uranium enrichment to 60 percent, he said: “When the government and parliament have common positions on issues related to the nuclear talks, the other parties will be forced to revive the agreement.”
