MOSCOW- At least three women were killed during Friday’s clashes between supporters and opponents of ousted president Mohamed Morsi in Egypt’s Nile Delta city of Mansoura, the Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported on Saturday, according to RIA Novosti.
Witnesses told the website that live rounds and knives were used in the clashes. At least seven people were injured.
The Egyptian army deposed Morsi, who narrowly won the country’s first free presidential election last June with 51.7 percent of the vote, following mass nationwide protests against the rule of the president. His current whereabouts remain unknown, but he is rumored to be kept in an undisclosed military location.
