Russian condemns today’s Israeli missile attack on the vicinity of Damascus

DAMASCUS, Feb.9, (ST)-The Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Efimov condemned on Wednesday the recent Israeli missile attack on the vicinity of Damascus.

“Russia strongly condemns the Israeli strikes on Syria and calls for ending them,” Efimov told Sputnik Agency, stressing that these Israeli attacks on Syrian territories are absolutely illegal according to the international law.”

He added “Such attacks cause casualties, and serious material damages, and they violate the sovereignty of the states, pose a threat to international civil air traffic and generally complicate the difficult military-political situation in the region as a whole.”

Today, a Military Sources declared: “At 12:56 midnight, the Israeli enemy fired missiles from south-east Beirut, and at 1:10 it fired surface-to-surface missiles from the occupied Syrian Golan towards some points in the vicinity of Damascus.”

It added that our air defenses intercepted the missiles and downed several ones. 

“The Israeli attack killed one soldier and wounded 5 others and left material damage,” the source affirmed.
