Artist Fidaa Mansour passes away

 Damascus (ST): The artistic circles mourned artist Fidaa Mansour, after a sudden health crisis, at the age of forty-five, after a short artistic journey full of achievements.

The late was born in the city of Jableh in 1977. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1999 and completed his postgraduate studies, the Department of Oil Painting in 2001. He worked as a teacher at the Institute of Fine and Applied Arts since 2002. His artistic creativity was represented in launching what he called the circular experience, which was manifested in his holding several solo exhibitions.

 

The late, who was a permanent participant in the Union of Fine Artists and the Directorate of Fine Arts, completed the longest mural in Syria, fifty meters long and two meters high, entitled The Silk Road, on the wall of the Chinese Embassy in Damascus. He also executed three murals in the Institute of Fine Arts and in three schools.

He received many awards by winning first place in the exhibition of tribute to the martyrs of Parliament at the People’s Hall for Fine Arts for the years 2017 and 2018, and the first prize for the World Anti-Drug Day.
