A Syrian-Emirati memorandum of understanding to exchange experiences and support in the field of archiving artifacts
On February 7, the Syrian Ministry of Culture agreed with its Emirati counterpart to sign a memorandum of understanding to exchange experiences and support in the field of archiving Syrian artifacts in light of what they were exposed to during the terrorist war on Syria.
The agreement to sign the memorandum came during a meeting held by Dr. LubanaMushawah, Minister of Culture, with NouraAl Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth of the United Arab Emirates.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed ways to develop cooperation relations between the two countries in the cultural fields, including antiquities, music and the Arabic language.
Dr. Mushawah underlined her ministry’s efforts to preserve the cultural work despite the war on Syria and the unjust siege imposed on it and its people.
The two ministers stressed the importance of the Arabic language as part of the Arab identity, which makes preserving and developing it to become more flexible a very urgent matter.
The meeting was attended by Syrian Ambassador to the UAE Dr. Ghassan Abbas, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy Rania Al-Rifai and a number of officials from the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth.
