The United Nations stressed the need to respect the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq, commenting on the Turkish bombing of areas in northern Iraq on Tuesday night.
“After the airstrikes in Nineveh, with reports of civilian casualties, we stressed the need to respect Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity at all times,” the United Nations News Center tweeted, noting the need to protect the population and adopt the language of dialogue and cooperation.
The bombing carried out by the Turkish regime’s aircraft on northern Iraq killed eight people and wounded a number of others.
The Turkish regime forces continue to violate Iraqi sovereignty, as last August, they bombed several areas in Dohuk Governorate, causing significant material damage.
