Belarusian Foreign Ministry: The United States Is Taking Politicized Decisions towards Eastern Europe
Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Anatoly Glaz stressed that the United States is taking politicized decisions in Eastern Europe far from the interests of other countries.
“There is no danger to American diplomats, nor to diplomats from other countries working in Belarus,” Glaz said in a statement today, Tuesday, in response to the US authorities’ request for the families of its diplomats to leave Minsk. The Belarusian official pointed out that his country is not the first in the world to amend the work system of the American diplomatic missions.
Glaz stressed that “according to many classifications, Belarus remains safer than the United States,” noting that Washington has recently taken decisions that are far from reality. These decisions have been taken without a serious and objective assessment, Glaz added.
Earlier, the US State Department instructed family members of US employees in Belarus to leave the country.
