Efforts continue to help displaced families from Hasakah

HASAKAH, Jan.25, (ST)-The Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, in cooperation with the local relief agencies, have continued providing aid to the families, who have left their homes in the southern area in Hasakah city and moved to the city center as a result of the ongoing strikes being carried out by the US occupation jets and the “Syrian Democratic Forces”  militia on the surrounding area  of the “Al-Senaa” Prison in  Ghwiran neighborhood.

The neighborhood has witnessed disobedience and escape operations for ISIS terrorists since the 20th of this month.

In a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Head of the Directorate Ibrahim Khalaf said  that the number of displaced families from the southern area of Hasakah reached 3,900 families until yesterday evening, asserting that the families are living now in five temporary shelters and in the houses of the citizens  in the local community in the center of Hasakah city and in safe neighborhoods.

Khalaf explained  that a temporary shelter was opened yesterday in the area of Hebbo lands and  it was provided  with all possible relief supplies by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and some charity associations amid complete absence of the role of the international organizations working in the relief and humanitarian affairs in Hasaka province.

He added that some civil associations offered food to families in shelters besides the continuity of offering medical services and other main requirements to them.

Thousands of families have left their houses in the southern sides of Hasakah city through safe corridors that have been opened by the Syrian Army to evacuate the people, who have fled the strikes being carried out by the US occupation under the pretext of pursuing the ISIS terrorists, who escaped from the prison of “Al-Senaa” [This prison was Industrial  school before the SDF militia turned it to prison] .
