Al-Maliki calls on the Security Council to halt the Israeli occupation crimes against the Palestinians

On January 19th, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki renewed his call to the UN Security Council to halt the continuing crimes of the Israeli occupation and its settlers against the Palestinians.

In a session of the UN Security Council on the “situation in the Middle East”, Al-Maliki confirmed that 2021 was one of the bloodiest years for the Palestinians in more than a decade, as the crimes of the occupation affected children, women, the elderly and property.

Al-Maliki called on the Security Council to provide international protection for the Palestinian people.

Al-Maliki explained that the support provided to the Israeli occupation and the silence about its repeated crimes that violate international laws and covenants made has   encouraged it to commit more crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people.

Al-Maliki reviewed the crimes of the occupation, the most recent of which was the crime committed by its forces this morning against the Salhiya family in Sheikh Jarrah in occupied Jerusalem.

Over the past years, the violations and serious crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians have not stopped, including killing, arrest, abuse, torture, displacement and settlement amid dubious international silence and the inability of the international community to stop these crimes, which amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
