The discovery of a new gas field in the Zamlat al-Mahr 1 well in Palmyra

On January 15th, the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme, announced the end of drilling work in the Zamlat al-Mahr 1 well in Palmyra, in the countryside of Homs.

The ministry said that the production volume evaluation and linking of this well to the gas network will be carried out during the coming period, and additional wells will be drilled in the field in order to assess the gas reserve.
