Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission calls for international action to protect prisoners

The Palestinian Prisoners and Released Affairs Commission renewed its demand for an international action to protect prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons.

Wafa Agency quoted the commission as saying in a statement today that the formation of a Palestinian and international medical committee has become an urgent matter to follow up on the conditions of prisoners in detention centers, especially those who are sick, to provide them with care and reassure their families in light of the fact that the occupation authorities prevent them from treatment and from paying any visits to them.

The Commission indicated that 5 Palestinian female prisoners were infected with Corona virus in the Damoun detention center, pointing out that the spread of the virus is a clear indication of the extent of the recklessness and indifference that the occupation authorities pursue in dealing with female prisoners.

On the seventh of this month, the Palestinian Prisoners Club announced that 25 prisoners had been infected with Corona virus in the Negev detention center, warning that the policy of deliberate medical negligence pursued by the occupation authorities against prisoners multiplied the risks that threaten their lives.
