China renews its support for Kazakhstan

BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) — As a permanent comprehensive strategic partner of Kazakhstan, China is willing to firmly support Kazakhstan in maintaining stability and stopping violence at this critical moment concerning Kazakhstan’s future, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday.

Wang made the remarks during a phone conversation with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

 In a letter addressed to his Kazakh counterpart, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Chinese President Xi Jin ping affirmed his country’s strong opposition to any foreign attempts to undermine Kazakhstan’s stability and threaten its security, praising the measures taken by the Kazakh president to calm the situation.

In his message, Ping reiterated his country’s categorical rejection of any attempt by outside parties to stir up unrest and incitement in Kazakhstan, harm the friendship between China and Kazakhstan and disrupt cooperation between the two countries.
