Iranian Foreign Ministry: We seek to reach a permanent agreement in the Vienna negotiations

Tehran (ST): The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Tehran is seeking, in the Vienna nuclear negotiations, to reach a sustainable and reliable agreement.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told reporters today, “We are looking for a permanent agreement that can be trusted, and if there is an agreement that does not meet this condition, it will not be on our agenda.”

He added, “We negotiate on the basis of facts and are not optimistic or pessimistic, while some are working to suggest that there is a negative atmosphere prevailing in the negotiations,” noting that what is currently happening in Vienna embodies the efforts of all parties concerned to reach a result.

The Austrian capital, Vienna, will host the eighth round of nuclear talks between Iran and the 4+1 group with the aim of reviving the nuclear agreement that the United States unilaterally exited in 2018.
