Laboratories and a market for rural women’s products opens in the countryside of Aleppo and Raqqa

Aleppo,  Raqqa (ST): The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Muhammad Hassan Qatna, inaugurated laboratories for diagnosing livestock diseases, seed health, the biological control center and the market for rural women’s products in the Directorate of Agriculture in Aleppo.

 

The market for rural women’s products includes about 27 booths for honey products, jams, juices, dairy, cheese, spices, wheat products, some types of detergents and handicrafts. It aims to market rural women’s products and break the mediator cycle between the producer and the consumer.

Minister Qatna and Minister of Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa were briefed about the agricultural and educational realities in the eastern countryside of Aleppo and the southwestern countryside of Raqqa.

The tour included Youssef Al-Azma School in Deir Hafer, where school bags were distributed to students, Hussain Al-Ghadban School in Maskna, and Debsy Faraj and Al-Ameerat rural schools in Raqqa.

In a statement to the media, the Minister of Education affirmed the ministry’s interest and that it will follow-up on the educational process in areas liberated from terrorism, especially in terms of rehabilitating schools to accommodate new students, which contributes to the return of parents to their villages and homes.

Firas Mahmoud Al-Alou, Director of Education in Raqqa Governorate, indicated that the number of schools in  Raqqa countryside reached 120 schools, while the number of students reached 35,000 male and female students, noting that work is continuing to open more schools to stabilize the educational process.

The two ministers met the farmers at the Cultural Center in Dibsi Afnan in the countryside of Raqqa and listened to their demands, which focused on addressing the transfer of funds to and from the Agricultural Bank, extending the period of the fodder cycle to complete the extraction of fodder, demanding an emergency fodder cycle for sheep, delivering water to irrigate the fields, and reducing the prices of fertilizers, seeds and diesel.
