More families displaced over the past 24 hours due to Turkish occupation shelling on Abu Rasin area in Hasakah

The Directorate of Social Affairs in Hasakah has stated that dozens of families have been displaced over the past 24 hours from their towns and villages in Abu Rasin area due to artillery shelling by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

Ibrahim Khalaf, Director of Social Affairs in Hasakah province, told SANA that last night’s fierce Turkish shelling on Abu Rasin area, north of Hasakah, led to the destruction of many houses and consequently to the displacement of a large number of locals who were forced to leave their areas to safer places.

He pointed out that the directorate has sent a monitoring team to assess the situation of the displaced families with the aim of assisting them and meeting their basic needs.

Khalaf pointed out that the number of the families that have been displaced due to the continuous Turkish shelling on Abu Rasin villages have reached 1500.  Humanitarian and relief aid has been provided by the directorate in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to these families as well as to 1900 other families hosting displaced people from Tal Tamer town due to the Turkish occupation’s shelling which has been continuous for around 20 days.
