Turkish regime detains at least 78 Turks over alleged link to the 2016 failed coup attempt

Within the framework of its crackdown on its opponents, the Turkish regime, led by Recep Tayyib Erdogan, has detained at least 78 people over alleged links to the 2016 failed coup attempt in Turkey.

According to Anadulu news Agency, the mouthpiece of the Turkish regime, the General Prosecutor in Istanbul has issued arrest warrants for 16 people, 15 of whom have already been detained. Meanwhile, the Ankara General Prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for 99 people, of whom 55 have been detained.

Meantime, the General prosecutor in Quniya province in central Turkey issued an arrest warrant against 10 persons, 8 of whom have been detained.

 These operations are part of the crackdown being conducted by the Turkish regime against its opponents in seven Turkish provinces.

Since the failed coup attempt in July 2016, Erdogan’s regime has detained thousands of Turks from the opposition side and dismissed some 150,000 people from work, including state employees, army personnel, policemen, judges and journalists.
