President Al-Assad congratulates President Putin on the new year

Damascus, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad sent on Thursday a congratulatory cable to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the New Year.

The president said in the cable: “I offer heartfelt congratulations to you, on the occasion of the New Year, with my sincerest wishes that this year brings you good luck and success”.

 The president wished President Putin and the people of the friendly country, Russia continued good health and prosperity.

President Al-Assad added: “We also hope that this year will witness more brilliance for the distinguished relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Russian Federation, and for the bilateral cooperation that achieves impressive successes for the two friendly peoples”.

In a cable to President Al-Assad published on the Russian presidency website on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that the new year will bring security and stability throughout the Syrian territories.

In his cable, President Putin affirmed Russia’s continuation of providing comprehensive support to friendly Syria in the fight against international terrorism, as well as in the field of finding a comprehensive political solution to the crisis there and in the reconstruction process.
