Syria, Oman to enhance cooperation in the fields of news exchange, training and drama production

Damascus, (ST) –  The Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Hallaq, discussed on Wednesday with his Omani counterpart, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Harassimeans to develop media cooperation between the two countries at all levels.

Talks through a remote communication channel focused on enhancing cooperation in the areas of news exchange, media training, joint drama production, and technical cooperation

The two sides also discussed the signing agreements between Syrian media institutions and their Omani counterparts, and exchanging visits of media delegations between the two countries.

The two ministers pointed to the depth of bilateral and historical relations between the two countries and the need for joint coordination in confronting false news and media campaigns that target societies by distorting facts and inversion of concepts.

The two sides stressed the importance of implementing what was agreed upon during the communication and working on coordinating media positions within the frameworks of regional and international cooperation.

It is worth noting that the Syrian Arab News Agency, SANA, and the Omani News Agency signed in 2007 a memorandum of understanding for news cooperation in the field of training and the exchange of media delegations.
