Various medals for Syria at the opening of the Arab Weightlifting Championships

Baghdad, (ST) – On Tuesday, the Syrian national weightlifting team won various medals in the opening of the Arab Championship for all categories hosted by Iraq.

Our national team player Jaafar Miya won two gold medals in the snatching competitions in the junior and youth categories, silver for the youth category, a bronze in the snatching in the men’s category, and bronze in total for juniors and men.

From the Syrian Team, Youssef Suleiman won four bronze medals in the snatching competitions for juniors, men and youth.

Our team’s delegation includes Al-Miqdad Hassan, 81kg, Ali Al-Helou, 89kg, Ezz El-Din Al-Ghafeer, Kamel Al-Asmar, both weighing 102kg, and Ahmed Al-Ali over 109kg, in addition to our Olympic champion Maan Assaad in his first participation after the Tokyo Olympics.
