American occupation transports for the second time unknown origin wheat seeds into Syrian territories
Hasakah, (ST) – In the context of targeting economic structures and causing damage to the strategic crops throughout the Syrian Al- Jazeera, an illegal organization backed by the American occupation forces distributed yesterday an unknown- origin of wheat seeds to a number of farmers in villages northeast of Hasakah governorate.
Civil sources in the Malikiyah area told SANA reporter that an illegal organization, in cooperation with the “SDF” militia and under the supervision of the American occupation, distributed wheat seed to farmers and farmers in the villages of Ain Diwar, Mazraat Al-Nasara, Hob Al-Hawa, Tal Al-Dhahab, Ain Al-Khadra Al-Jadida and al-Ghamr. They pointed out that the distribution is scheduled to include today, the villages of Al-Zuhairiyah and Ain Al-Khadra, and then the rest of the villages at a later time.
The sources pointed out that the American occupation forces delude the people that the distributed seeds are good and of high quality to encourage them to use them in their fields, even though it is hybrid wheat and contains agricultural pests whose cultivation leads to gradually removing agricultural land from investment to become uncultivable in the future.
The Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Hasakah, Eng. Saeed Jaji, said in a statement to SANA that the seeds that were distributed yesterday were recently transported through the illegal Al-Waleed crossing. He pointed out that it is the second time that the occupation has introduced wheat seeds of an unknown origin during the past two months, as laboratory analyzes showed that they are not for human use .
Jaji warned peasants and farmers in the countryside of Qamishli and the region against dealing with these seeds of Turkish origin. He called on them to destroy them and not to plant them because their damage will continue for years and cause an epidemic of agricultural lands.
The head of Hasakah Governorate farmers’ Union, Abdel-Fattah Ahmed, warned more than once, against dealing with seeds of unknown origin, because they constitute a clear threat to the future of agricultural lands. He called on not dealing with these seeds and not planting them, as they are not suitable for cultivation and will be a cause of agricultural pests that in time will make the land unsuitable for farming. He also called on the farmers to depend only on the seeds that were offered by the General Establishment for Seed Growth.
