The occupation escalates attacks on Palestinian villages in the northern West Bank

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): The Israeli occupation forces and settlers have escalated their attacks on Palestinian villages and towns in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, as part of its plans to displace Palestinians from their land, Judaize it and change its Arab character, in flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions.

According to the Palestinian Wafa Agency, during the past two days, the occupation forces stormed into the villages of Burqa, Bazariya and Sebastia in Nablus, and Wasiyat al-Dhahr in Jenin, and attacked Palestinians with bullets and poison gas canisters, injuring more than 250 of them and causing many of them to suffocate, while dozens of settlers stormed into Al-Aqsa Mosque from one side the Mughrabi Gate and made provocative tours in its courtyards, guarded by the occupation forces, which arrested three of its guards and spread extensively at all its gates.

The Palestinian presidency condemned the settlers’ attacks, and reiterated its call to the international community, especially the Security Council, to intervene urgently to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and stop the continuing crimes of the occupation against them.

For his part, Ghassan Daghlas, the official in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank, said in a statement to news reporter: “The settlers’ attacks on the village of Burqa and the displacement of Palestinians from their homes will not deter the Palestinian people from continuing to confront the occupation’s settlement plans in that area.”
