Syrian Film “Photograph” takes part in the Oasis International Film Festival in Morocco

The Syrian short film “Photograph” directed by Almohannad Kalthoum is to participate in the official competition of the Sixth edition of the Oasis International Film Festival (Festival du Cinéma L’oasis) held virtually between December 24th  and 27th in the city of Tata in Morocco under the title ” The Seventh Art an Effective Means to Alleviate the Effects of Corona Pandemic”.

13 films from different countries including Morocco, Syria, Bulgaria, Egypt and Hungary, are taking part in this festival which is organized by Nibras Al-Itmah Association for Fine Arts with the support of the Moroccan Cinema Center in the city of Tata.     

“Photograph” depicts the repercussions of the war in Syria on Syrian children. It tackles child labor and the difficult economic circumstances that force children to leave schools and look for a job to support their families. The film also highlights the situation of children in the post-war stage as well as man’s struggle to survive.

 The film, produced by the National Film Organization, won several prestigious awards in local and Arab festivals, because it sheds light on children, who are major victims of war.

 “Photograph”, which is the production of the National Film Organization, stars Suleiman al-Ahmad, Ghaleb Shandoubeh, Jamal al-Ali, Safouh Mimas and Itab Abu Sa’da.
