Bishop of Alexandria: Syria will continue to be the land of peace and amity

Bishop Krikor Kousa of Alexandria for the Armenian Catholics has stressed that Syria will continue to be the homeland of peace and amity.

During a holy mass held on Friday marking Christmas, Bishop Kousa said “we call for peace to all human beings. We seek disseminating amity and eliminating hatred and evil among peoples of the world and we pray to God to protect our country from the plague of terrorism.”   

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Cairo, Kousa congratulated the Syrian people, army and government on Christmas and on their victory over terrorism.

“Syria is the cradle of all heavenly religions which call for amity among all peoples,” he said.

 “Christmas is the a day of love and peace. We pray for peace to the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed dearly in defense of our beloved Syria,” he added.

Bishop Kousa prayed for security and stability to return to the entire Syrian territory and for peace to prevail worldwide.
