Khaji: An upcoming summit of heads of states of the guarantor states of the Astana Process to be held in February or March 2022
Nur-Sultan (ST): Senior Assistant to the Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji announced that preparations are underway to hold a summit of heads of guarantor states of the Astana process on Syria in the Iranian capital, Tehran, during February or March of next year, depending on the situation related to the spread of the Corona virus pandemic.
Khaji said in a statement to the Russian news agency TASS today, on the sidelines of his participation in the seventeenth international meeting on Syria in the Astana format, currently being held in Nur-Sultan: ” The issue of holding this summit between the presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey is up for discussion within the framework of this meeting, and this issue will be reflected in the final statement adopted by the meeting later today.”
The work of the seventeenth international meeting on Syria continues today in Nur-Sultan in the Astana format, which opened yesterday through bilateral and tripartite meetings between the participating delegations to coordinate positions on the points on the agenda.
