Sablin hopes for Syria’s participation in the works of PA CSTO

DAMASCUS, DEC.21, (ST)-Speaker of the People’s Assembly [ Parliament] Hammoda Sabbagh asserted on Tuesday that the historic and deep-rooted relations between Syria and Russia have  become stronger due to the cooperation in fighting the terror war that has been waged on Syria. 
 
The Speaker’s remarks came during his meeting today with Russian Parliamentary delegation headed by Dmitry Sablin, the Chairman of the Russian-Syrian Friendship Committee and Deputy Chairman of Defense Committee at the Russian Duma. 
 
Sabbagh spoke about his high appreciation of Russia’s support for Syria in fighting terrorism and enhancing the Syrian people’s steadfastness, hoping that parliamentary visits and the exchange of experiences will be increased. 
 
He referred to the need of overcoming the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, saying that these measures target the livelihood of Syrian citizen. 
 
The Speaker pointed out that the Parliament approved several legislations to encourage investments, including the new investment law that offers facilities to businessmen from different countries, mainly friendly ones. 
 
For his part, Sablin affirmed the continuity of enhancing and developing relations between Russia and Syria, referring to the efforts being exerted to establish direct relations between Russian and  Syrian provinces. 
 
He hoped that a delegation from the Syrian parliament will take part as observer in the works of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (PA CSTO). 
 
The members of the Russian delegation talked about the role of teaching Russian language in Syrian schools in enhancing relations, calling for getting benefit from the Russian experiences in reconstruction process.
