The Higher Council of the Arab Engineers’ Union on Saturday held its annual meeting in Damascus. Discussions focused on the union’s activities and projects at the Arab and international level.
Secretary General of the Union Adel Al-Hdeithi said that the 77th meeting of the council is being held in Damascus after long years of absence because of the crisis in the country, pointing out that Damascus was the place from where this union was launched in 1963.
He added that yesterday’s meeting of the Arab Engineers with President Bashar Al-Assad has been a kind of constructive open dialogue during which the situation in the Arab region was discussed.
On his part, Head of the Engineers’ Syndicate in Syria Gheyath Al-Qittini said that this meeting is being held as Syria is recovering and going ahead with reconstruction after years of war. He noted the unfair western blockade that aims at subjugating Syria and forcing it to change its nationalist resisting course.
