A protest stand against Israeli occupation’s theft of Palestinian heritage

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Palestinian officials and popular institutions organized this evening a protest stand in the occupied West Bank in response to the Israeli occupation’s attempts to steal Palestinian heritage and Palestinian national dress.

According to Wafa News Agency, dozens of Palestinians, women, men and children participated in the stand in the center of Ramallah, wearingPalestinian dress. They expressed during this stand their adherence to the Palestinian identity and heritage.

 In her speech, the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governor, Laila Ghannam, said that “we do not prepare Palestinian heritage, clothing and food for beauty contests or for a fashion show, rather, we practice it on a daily basis. She pointed out that, it is not the first time that the occupation has tried to steal the Palestinian heritage. The occupation has tried to make history for it.

Ghannam stressed that the Palestinians will remain rooted in their land, preserving their heritage, calling for documenting the national dress with audio and video to show it to all countries that this heritage is a Palestinian dress.

The occupation seeks to abolish the national and historical identity of the Palestinian people after the failure of the mass erasing scheme and the “organizedgenocide” of the Palestinian people more than 70 years ago.
