Patriarch Yonan asserts the adherence of the people of Hasakah to their lands

HASAKAH, DEC.13, (ST)-  The Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and all the East of the Syriacs for the Syriac Catholic ChurchIgnatius Ephrem Joseph III Yonan has affirmed that the adherence of the people of Hasakah to their lands despite of the pressures being practiced by the occupiers. 
 
His remarks came during his meeting on Monday with the Governor of Hasakah Ghassan Khalil. 
 
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Patriarch called for ending the international sanctions, mainly the so-called “Caesar Act”, that aim to blackmail Syria and to starve the Syrian people. 
 
He stressed that the sanctions will fail to reach their goals.
 
“We pray for the achievement of peace and stability in this country and for keeping this province as an example of love,” the patriarch added. 
 
For his part, Khalil talked about the importance of the visit made by the patriarch to the province, saying that the visit reflects the love of the Syrian people to their homeland.
