The presence of a medical team providing vaccinations against the Corona virus in a public place encouraged many people to take the vaccine while they were in a shopping mall in Damascus on Saturday evening.

which is provided by the Ministry of Health for free through mobile teams, with the aim of increasing the number of people vaccinated against the virus and raising community awareness of the vaccination  importance to achieve health security, according to the director of the seventh health zone in Damascus Health Directorate, Dr. Kifah Khartalk.

Dr. Khartalk stressed the importance of taking the vaccine to reduce the symptoms of infection with the virus if it occurs and the rates of hospitalization and deaths. He noted  that the ministry, in addition to giving the vaccine in health centers, launched more than a month ago mobile teams to provide the vaccine to those who wish to work in ministries, government institutions, universities and in a number of public places such as malls, commercial markets and various places that witness large gatherings. The vaccination campaign will continue to reach the largest number of people.

In turn, the vaccine official in the mobile team Youssef Abdulkareem indicated that this step comes to popularize the health culture by taking the vaccine to achieve individual and collective protection. He noted that the percentage of people over the age of 18 who received the Corona vaccine must reach more than 60 percent to achieve health security in the community. He confirmed that the second dose of the vaccine will be given in the same place according to the specified date or through a health center according to the desire of the person receiving the vaccine.

The director of human resources in the mall pointed out that the mall management was keen to provide the vaccine to its workers in coordination with the Ministry of Health, and then the segment of those wishing to take  the vaccine expanded to include the mall visitors.

It is noteworthy that since the end of last October, the Ministry of Health has expanded the number of health centers that provide vaccines against the Corona virus in all governorates to become 967 centers and hospitals.
