DAMASCUS, DEC.9, (ST)-Cham Wings Airlines evacuated yesterday scores of Syrian citizens who had been stranded along the Belarus border with Poland and brought them back to their homeland.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Cham Wings Airlines, the plane of the Airlines took off from Damascus International Airport without passengers and headed towards Minsk Airport where 96 Syrian citizens were evacuated from Belarus without paying money.
The statement added that the flight comes within the its national and social responsibility to help Syrian citizens who are stranded along the Belarus border with Poland and bring them back to their homeland.
“This step refutes the EU’s allegations against the Airlines,” the statement said, pointing out that the Cham Wings Airlines operate its flights to Belarus to reactivate trade movement and cultural and tourist exchange between Syria and Belarus that have strong relations, not to mention transporting many of Syrian students who are studying in Belarus.
Like other Airlines, The Cham Wings Airlines had stopped its flights to Minsk because of the migrants crises along Belarus-Poland border.
The Airlines’ statement concluded by saying that it will not be reluctant to operate similar flights to Belarus if new Syrians demand to return to homeland.
