Lavrov: Russia will continue its efforts to crush terrorism in Syria completely

Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov affirmed that Washington refuses to recognize the formation of a multi-polar system in the world and is interfering in the internal affairs of countries.

Lavrov said in a speech before the Russian Federation Council today that his country will continue its efforts to eliminate terrorism once and for all in Syria and settle regional crises.

Lavrov pointed out that Washington has refused to recognize the formation of a multi-polar system in the world. It has tried to create new lines of separation and continues to  interfere  in the internal affairs of countries.

Lavrov said that the West has tried to violate the international structure with its own rules and by circumventing the United Nations. He indicated that NATO countries have tried to include Ukraine in its orbit and are increasing the provision of offensive weapons to the regime in Kiev, which makes the matter more difficult.

Lavrov stressed that Russia will take measures to ensure its security and the stability of its borders and will respond to any unfriendly step and any possible attack.

Lavrov said that there is no alternative to Russia’s independent policy, which seeks to build dialogue on the basis of parity with states in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, enhance global stability and security.

It is noteworthy that Russia has made it clear, through more than one of its officials, that it has never planned any military intervention on Ukrainian territory, and that the statements about “Russian aggression” are being used as a pretext to deploy more NATO military equipment near the Russian borders.
