ANC expresses solidarity with Palestinian people

PRETORIA, Nov. 30, (ST)- The ruling “African National Congress” Party (ANC) in South Africa  organized on Tuesday an activity to show solidarity with the Palestinian people in Pretoria with the aim of asserting the Palestinian people’s right to live in freedom and peace.

According to WAFA news agency, the participants in the activity, which was held within the framework of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, affirmed their support for the South African government’s rejection of the violations and crimes being committed by “Israel” against the Palestinians.

The agency quoted the 1st Secretary at Palestine’s Embassy Bassam Al-Houseni as saying “thanks the South African people and government for their support to the people of Palestine.” He called for isolating the Zionist regime internationally and regionally.

In the same context, Palestine’s embassy in South Africa in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Culture and Sports and some institutions organized a solidarity activity with Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails.

Palestine’s Ambassador Hanan Jarrar appealed to the international community to shoulder its responsibility and to interfere immediately to release all prisoners of the Israeli occupation’s jails.
