International Conference on Building Engineering at Damascus University

Damascus (ST): With the participation of researchers and academics from the homeland and the Diaspora, the Higher Institute for Research and Seismic Studies organized its first international conference on building engineering “Towards more sustainable facilities” at the Reda Saeed Conference Center at Damascus University.

The conference participants reviewed, during several sessions, a set of research on the latest technologies used in the field of construction worldwide, as well as the optimal use of energy and natural resources to achieve their sustainability and allow the development of smart and sustainable construction systems that ensure the efficiency of facilities while preserving the environment.

 

The President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Yasar Abdeen, explained in his speech that the organization of Damascus University for such conferences confirms its will to secure all available technology to meet the needs of society and achieve self-sufficiency, which constitutes the main pillar for supporting the national economy and contributing to comprehensive development, in cooperation and partnership with all parties.

In turn, Dr. Hala Hassan, Dean of the Higher Institute for Research and Seismic Studies, explained that the conference included lectures by researchers from the universities (Damascus, Tishreen, Aleppo and Al-Baath), in addition to lectures given by Syrian researchers from French, German, British and Lebanese universities via the electronic platform (Zoom) with the aim of exchanging knowledge and identifying solutions and future prospects in the business of sustainable engineering.
