Turkey’s lira collapse, deteriorating economic situation and international isolation are among the suffocating crises facing President of the Turkish Regime Recep Tayyib Erdogan due to his failed policies inside and outside Turkey, according to an analysis written by US columnist Steven Cook and published recently by the “Foreign Policy” magazine.
Under the title “Erdogan Has Never Been in This Much Trouble, the analysis stated that among all of Turkey’s problems, it is the deteriorating economic situation that is Erdogan’s most serious predicament. As a result of his gross mismanagement, the lira has lost around 75 percent of its value against the dollar in the last decade, 45 percent in the past year, and 15 percent alone on Tuesday.
Inflation is running at 20 percent; unemployment is 14 percent; and the gap between wealthy and poor has increased in Turkey, according to the analysis.
