Cham Wings Airlines launches first direct flight from Damascus to Abu Dhabi

The Cham Wings Airlines on Friday launched its first direct flight from Damascus International Airport to the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Airport with the aim of expanding its flights to countries of the region.

In a statement to reporters, Osama Sate’, the company’s Business Development and Human Resources Manager, stressed that opening a direct line between Damascus and Abu Dhabi is important to boost trade, cultural and tourist exchange between Syria and the UAE.

He said that this step aims at expanding the company’s external destinations, at reaching Abu Dhabi in order to meet travelers’ needs and at activating air transport in general between the two countries.

Sate’ added that 147 travelers were on board the Cham Wings flight, pointing out that the company is keen on providing the best services at encouraging prices.

On his part, the company’s Commercial Manager Hamdi Khalaf said that operating Abu Dhabi station will be followed by other steps to enhance air transport cooperation with other countries, pointing out that the company will soon launch a flight to Pakistan and an additional flight between Syria’s Aleppo and the UAE’s Sharjah.

Last June, the Cham Wings Airlines announced the resumption of its direct flights from Damascus to the UAE after a period of stoppage due to Coronavirus pandemic. The company currently runs flights to Sharjah from Damascus and Aleppo.
