West obstructs the return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland, says Lebanese Foreign Minister
Moscow, (ST) – Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib affirmed that Western countries do not support the return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland and try to obstruct it.
Minister Bou Habib said in a lecture he gave on Tuesday at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry that, “we are facing some difficulties from the West because they say that they do not want these refugees to return to Syria for reasons related to their position on the Syrian government.”
He said that Lebanon does not interfere in Syria’s internal affairs and cooperates with the Russian Federation to repatriate these refugees.
Bou habib indicated that Lebanon suffers from economic and social pressures due to the persistence of the refugee problem on its territory, and is seeking to solve this problem.
Yesterday, during a press conference with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdullah Bouhabib, who is visiting Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated that some countries continue to obstruct the return of displaced Syrians to their country despite the creation of the appropriate conditions by the Syrian government for their return.
