Aoun warns against political exploitation of crises

Beirut (ST): Lebanese President Michel Aoun affirmed that the political exploitation of crises will only lead to more tension and fragmentation of the country.

In a speech to the Lebanese on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of independence, Aoun said, “The concerns of the interior cannot make us forget the real confrontation in order to defend our sovereignty, liberate the rest of our land and protect our rights in our waters, as our choice was and is still indirect negotiation to demarcate our southern maritime borders.”

With regard to the emerging crisis with Riyadh, the Lebanese president affirmed his country’s keenness to establish the best relations with the Arab countries, especially the Gulf states, stressing that he will continue to seek a solution for this crisis soon.

On the other hand, Aoun warned those who bet on the fall of internal Lebanese institutions.He called at the same time on voters to make the ballot box a weapon against corruption and spoilers.
