The Ministry of Education discusses with UNDP strengthening cooperation

 On November 20th, Minister of Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa discussed with a delegation from the United Nations Development Program(UNDP)  ways to enhance cooperation in the educational and awareness fields in terms of preventing drug and crime risks.

Dr. Tabaa said that the Ministry introduces the basics of law   into the curricula, based on the necessity of familiarity and awareness of international and national laws.

 

Dr.Tabbaa pointed out the importance of intensifying educational and cultural activities to reach the various students and their families, in addition to working to address the children who are out of school.

In turn, Dr. Hala Rizk, Director of the Program’s Social Cohesion and Local Development Team, praised the Ministry’s work in the areas of emotional learning and legal culture and the importance of consolidating that culture through interactive activities and working with parents and the local community to cooperate in this field.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Regional Representative of the United Nations Development Program Mirna Bou Habib, Program Officer on Drugs and Crime Renee Sabbagh, Community Development Expert Lindsey Peterson, Director of the Community Development Project Anas Mansour, and Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry, Dr. Ghassan Al-Shughari.
