Alikhbaria TV holds SDF militia and its US sponsor responsible for the safety of its reporter Mohammad Al-Saghir

The Syrian Alikhbaria TV has held militants of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Militia and the US occupation responsible for the safety of its reporter Mohammad Al-Saghir, who was kidnapped by this militia in 2019.

In a statement on Friday, the TV channel said that the US-backed militia has promoted lies on social media about the death of the reporter in its detention centers, clarifying that these claims come in response to the solidarity campaigns that call for releasing Al-Saghir.

“Based on reliable information, we confirm that the reporter Mohammad Al-Saghir is still alive despite the deterioration of his health and psychological condition. Hence, we hold the SDF militia and its American operator fully responsible for the reporter’s safety, heath condition and freedom,” Alikhbaria said in its statement.

It renewed its call for releasing the reporter, affirming that such heinous attempts by the SDF militia won’t silence it or dissuade it from calling for the immediate release of Mohammad Al-Saghir.

Mohammad Al-Saghir was born in 1968. He worked in several Syrian media outlets. He joined Alikhbaria team as a reporter in the city of Qamishli in 2014. He covered many events and in 2019, he covered the arsons that erupted in the wheat and barely fields in the Syrian Al-Jazira region before he was kidnapped by the SDF militia June, 2019.
