DAMASCUS, Nov 18, (ST)-The Syrian-Pakistani Friendship Committee at the People’s Assembly [Parliament] discussed with the Ambassador of Pakistan in Damascus the ways of developing and enhancing parliamentary relations.
The head of the committee Monzer Ibrahim underscored the importance of the historical and brotherly relations between Syria and Pakistan and the joint interests that connect the peoples of the two countries.
He asserted the need to enhance economic, educational, medical and commercial cooperation between the two countries, highly appreciating Pakistan’s support for Syria at international meetings and the facilities it has offered to the return of flights between the two countries.
For his part, the Pakistani diplomat affirmed the continuity of his country’s support to Syria in all fields, especially humanitarian and relief ones, in the light of the unjust economic siege being imposed on Syria.
He indicated that the scholarships for Syrian students to Pakistan has increased from 10 to 100, looking forward to developing bilateral relations in all fields.
The ambassador expressed his pleasure for the recovery of Syria al all levels.
