Syria, UNESCO agree on cooperation to boost teaching Artificial Intelligence

The Syrian delegation taking part in the 41st session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held talks on Saturday with UNESCO’s Assistant Director General for Sciences Shamila Nair-Bedouelle.

The two sides agreed on boosting education in the field of Artificial Intelligence, on supporting distinction centers, particularly in the domains of mathematics, robotics and physics, and on improving the learning of sciences through using the 3D printing technology.

The Syrian delegation is led by Minister of Education Darem Tabbaa, who is also the Head of the Syrian National Committee for Education, Culture and Sciences.

 In the same context, the Syrian delegation also held talks with UNESCO’s Assistant Director General for Culture Ernesto Ottone on providing necessary international support for rehabilitating the damaged Syrian archeological sites, recovering the looted Syrian artifacts and protecting the intangible heritage.

The delegation also held talks with the Mauritanian and Venezuelan education ministers and discussed with them areas of cooperation.

The UNESCO’s 41st General Conference kicked off in Paris on November 9th and it will last until November 24th.

Syria and 193 countries are taking part in this event to discuss education issues as well as ways to achieve Sustainable Development goals, especially the fourth goal which is related to the quality of education and sciences, Artificial Intelligence and the tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
