Jordan’s Foreign Minister calls for collective Arab role in efforts aiming at reaching political solution in Syria
The Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi has stressed the need to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria.
In an interview on Friday, Al-Safadi said “all agree that the solution to the crisis in Syria must be political in accordance with Resolution No. 2254, a goal which we are working in coordination with other parties to achieve.”
He called for a collective Arab role in the efforts aiming at reaching a political solution to the crisis in a way that contributes to attaining stability in Syria and the entire region.
The Resolution No. 2254, unanimously adopted by the UN Security Council in December 2015, states that the Syrians are the ones who determine the future of their country themselves away from any foreign interference, and that the terrorist organizations are outside any political process.
