Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki affirmed that the United Nations’ vote on five resolutions in favor of the Palestinian cause is evidence of the international community’s firm position on the rights of the Palestinian people in light of the continuous crimes of the Israeli occupation and its non-compliance with international law.
Al-Maliki said in a statement on Wednesday reported by Wafa News Agency, that the resolutions voted on affirm the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the right to self-determination and the right of refugees to return to their homes.
Al-Maliki added that these resolutions also maintain the continuity of UNRWA’s work, saying that these resolutions will be adopted later in the General Assembly.
He called on the countries that opposed the decisions and those that retracted their positions to reconsider their stances and respect the principles of the international law and not to encourage the occupation to persist in its crimes against the Palestinians.
The Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly on Political issues last night adopted by an overwhelming majority five resolutions in favor of the Palestinian cause.
