Prague (ST): Czech Presidential Spokesman JerjeOvchaczyk announced that President Milos Zeman has assigned the head of the Civil Democratic Party, Peter Viala, to form the new government according to the results of the recent parliamentary elections.
Ovchaczyk said that “Zeman asked Fiala to start talks with representatives of the political parties that entered the new parliament and inform him of the results of his talks so that he can take the next constitutional steps.”
For his part, Fiala announced the acceptance of the assignment and the start of talks with the parties to the government coalition that is being formed about the final form of the government structure.
This assignment came after Fialaagreed the day before yesterday with the leaders of 4 other parties to form a coalition government.
