Syria, UNFPA review cooperation in the field of renewable energy

DAMASCUS, (ST)_The Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussien Makhlouf, who chairs the Higher Relief Committee, has discussed with the resident representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Syria Iyad Nasser the mechanism of cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and environment. 
 
The discussion which was held on Tuesday focused on the project being carried out by the UNFPA in several areas and the future project that could be carried out in accordance with national standards to positively affect the services being offered to citizens. 
 
Makhlouf asserted the importance of involving local society in selecting the projects that meet their needs. 
 
While Nasser expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation to meet the requirements of sustainable development and to build capabilities upon the national vision and in accordance with the requirements of local society and government parties.
