On November 8th, Syria is participating in the activities of the China International Import Fair in Shanghai for the fourth time in a row, amid the demand from the Chinese public for the Syrian pavilion.
The official of the economic department at the Syrian Embassy in Beijing, Ziad Zaitoun, stated that Syria has been participating in the fair since its launch in 2018, when participation was limited to a small pavilion and then increased year after year until it reached three large pavilions this year.
Zaitoun said that the Syrian pavilions were very popular with the public, as they witnessed visits by Chinese officials, including the fair director, who praised the distinguished performance of the Syrian pavilion.
Zaitoun indicated that the Syrian pavilion ranked second for foreign exhibits in China,and it includes about ten companies of the manufacture of laurel soap, olive oil, traditional Syrian fabrics, traditional wood industries, mosaic, in addition to cosmetics.
As a result of the success of the Syrian pavilions and their products in the fair during its sessions, the city government of Shanghai presented a number of Syrian products throughout the year in the Nanjing Lu Street area, which is the most important commercial street in Shanghai, another shop in Xi’an, and a shop currently under construction in Tianjin.
In addition to the virtual pavilions in the fair, another virtual exhibition was held online, in which a Syrian pavilion was popular among Chinese and foreign internet pioneers.
The Syrian virtual pavilion included Syrian traditional products, in addition to some introductory videos on the Syrian civilization and the Syrian economy.
The activities of the fourth session of the China International Import Expo, which started last Friday, will continue until November 10th, with the participation of about 3,000 companies from 127 countries, within a total area of 366,000 square meters.
